Last year at this time we were just starting to witness the tandem of Kupp and Stafford. We were starting to see how this tandem was going to win a lot of teams their Fantasy Championship. The average draft position of Christian Kirk in a 12 team league is late 8th round, early 9th round. He is someone people should be targeting as a mid-round pickup that will be the type of player that turns your draft into exceptional. The Jaguars have been targeting him a TON in pre-season and everyone should take notice of that.
The Jaguars do not have many options at the WR position and it is apparent that Kirk will be used a ton. The Jaguars inked Kirk to a massive contact this off-season to be their #1 WR and it looks like they intend to make that a reality even if most people were questioning that deal. Kirk has shown a propensity to get injured and last season marked the first season he played in every regular season game. While he did not eclipse the 1000 yard mark last season he did get close and was playing a WR system where he was not close to the #1 WR. If the looks he is getting in pre-season are any indication Kirk is a mid-round sleeper that is going as the 40-45th WR drafted and I think he will finish as a top 36, which is a #3 starter in a league that starts 3 WRs.
Bonus player:
There is another player that I am high on, but is not a #1 WR in their system going into the season. Josh Palmer from the Chargers, was a rookie last year who didn’t see the field a lot until the end of the season. Once he got on the field all he did was score 3 TD’s in the last 5 weeks. In this last pre-season game he hauled in another TD. He is a guy I would grab late and stash. I think he could be used as a situational starter during bye weeks and would see a lot of playing time if Allen or Williams goes down with an injury. He is a guy I am targeting as a late round flyer who I think has a ton of upside.
